Gone are the days of simply updating your CV, clicking "apply," and waiting for the phone to ring. Job searching in 2024 is a whole new game, and I’m here to make sure you’re prepared to win it.
Here’s a no-nonsense checklist for landing more job offers in 2025.
🟡 LinkedIn Profile
Let’s face it—LinkedIn is your new best friend.
Headline: Align it with your goal, and include keywords.
About Section: Make it impressive, include metrics.
Job Titles: Choose from the LinkedIn menu.
Skills: Add 15+ relevant skills under each position.
Job Descriptions: Impact counts more than listing the tasks.
🟡 CV
CV is your professional snapshot of your skills.
Personal Details: Remove personal info, photo, your cat’s name.
Career Summary: Get the recruiter’s attention with a strong summary
Skills: Show off your top 12-15 skills.
Job Description: Focus on results, not just “tasks completed.”
🟡 Job Application
Apply smartly, not widely:
Set Alerts: Get notified of target jobs in your dream locations.
Reach Out: Connect and send a quick message to recruiters.
Engage: Like and follow company pages, and mark “interested”!
🟡 Networking
I know—it can feel awkward, but networking is key.
Headhunters: Reach out to the relevant headhunters.
Comments Section: Engage in conversations.
Target Companies: Make a list of companies you love, and start connecting with potential colleagues and hiring managers.
🟡 Visibility and Personal Branding
Time to make the world know you.
Network with Decision-Makers: Get in front of those who matter.
Create Content: Post something insightful, drop a few comments, or contribute to LinkedIn AI Pulse articles. Make people notice you (in a good way).
